SMUD CEO & General Manager will share the utility’s progress toward its goal to eliminate all carbon emissions from its power supply by 2030, the most ambitious goal of any large utility in the United States. It’s an exciting time to be in Sacramento, especially for innovative startups and others who want to help lead the way to a clean energy future and make our region a model for the rest of the country to follow. Lau will discuss how SMUD is working with a range of partners to deliver on this ambitious goal, from finding technology solutions to decarbonize to building a skilled workforce to work in emerging clean tech jobs.

Panel Discussion: Getting the most from the customer side — innovations in efficiency and electrification

This portion of the program will include six short presentations followed by a moderated panel discussion. Talks and panel discussion will focus on how innovations and technologies can help reach zero carbon goals by getting the most from the customer side through innovations and technologies that reduce demand through efficiency and electrification.
