We learned recently that August is National Black Business Month and had the idea that we could use our online platform to recognize black startups and entrepreneurs in the Sacramento region. While our focus is on innovative tech-focused and tech-enabled startups, we also appreciate the entrepreneurial spirit of all entrepreneurs, the Makers, the Doers, the Dreamers that fuel economic growth. With that in mind, we reached out to our friends and partners in programs like Willow Tree Roots, DiverseCity Ventures, and Square Root Academy to help us crowdsource a list of black entrepreneurs in our region to showcase. We’re sure that there are dozens, if not hundreds more than what we were able to crowdsource so if you know someone who isn’t on this list, let us know. Also check out this rundown of 12 national organizations that support black entrepreneurs.
