Congratulations to the companies selected to participate in the semi-finals of the Kings Capitalize competition! While the pitch event is not open to the public, it’s happening this Thursday. Four out of 16 startups will rise to the top!

In this edition, I’ll share some budget-saving tips to help you extend your runway! Here are some some ways you can save a little cash on HIGH VALUE opportunities.

StartupSac Happy Hour — once a month, get together with other founders for some prime socializing and an AMA with an interesting guest. Sometimes a founder, sometimes an investor, but always someone with great experience to share! There is no admission charge. This Tuesday it’s at The Red Rabbit and the AMA guests are Nick and Gabe, founders of Gymhit. And it’s also Fat Tuesday!

1 Million Cups — every Wednesday! Always free! Coffee served! This week the focus is on medtech startups. Two founders present about their companies and the audience (mostly founders themselves) give feedback. Launched six months ago, this weekly meetup is building a great peer-to-peer mentoring network.

Startup Grind — While at-the-door admission is $25, if you register the month prior and use promo code “digest” you’ll pay just $5! In addition to a fireside chat with an entrepreneurial icon, you’ll also feast on delicious appetizers and enjoy LIVE music. Plan ahead and go for cheap! Get your tickets today for the March 14 event with guest Warren Smith, president of Sac Republic FC and it will just cost you a fiver!

Impact VC Office Hours — 30 minutes of FREE uninterrupted time with an expert! So far this year, Impact’s offered office hours with an attorney and with a branding expert. The catch? You have to reserve your space early because time slots are limited. On March 8, they’re offering Inbound and Social Marketing Office Hours. There are limited slots available so email natalie@impactvc.com RIGHT NOW to reserve your time.

Early Stage Tech Company Workshops — starting with a Legal Essentials workshop on March 7, this new series will provide a half day of immersive learning on key topics for founders of early stage tech companies. While it’s not free, the value to price ratio is high. The seminars are taught by a team of subject matter experts and there will be ample time for your specific questions. I scored you an $8 discount if you use promo code “digest.”

Launch Festival — An annual San Francisco gathering, the Festival is the world’s largest startup event, supporting founders and inspiring innovation! Over 12000 founders will attend! You can apply for a FREE founders pass for this 2-day event happening April 6-7. Hurry up though — there is a limited quantity available!

End Note: How often should a founder “get out of the building?” While there is no magic number, my suggestion is that you attend at least two high value events a month. Startup success is built on relationships. Meeting someone new could be just what you need to take it to the next level.

There’s lots of great stuff going on in the tech startup community–check out the details in this week’s Startup Digest.
