If you’re a parent or a college student, you’ve likely been in back-to-school mode the last couple of weeks or will be shortly. But school isn’t just for kids and young adults. School is for Startups too! This week, I highlight a few opportunities that might help you advance your business through education.
Here’s a great opportunity for startup founders (especially want-to-be-founders) who are on a very tight budget. Hacker Lab’s Pathways Scholarship provides free coworking and makerspace along with mentoring and coaching to get your dream business started. To qualify, applicants must earn less than $41,000 annually. Applicants should want to measurably change their lives, either by starting or furthering a new business, entering a new higher-wage/STEM field, or entering higher education. Applications are due by September 23. To learn more and to determine if you qualify, click here.
Dan Casas-Murray, of Startup Hustle fame, is back with a new 6-week bootcamp, How to Build (and Sell) Something People Want. The program runs from September 3 through October 8 and meets every Tuesday, from 10am to noon, at Granite City Coworking in Folsom. The early bird price is just $125 (expires 8/26). Learn more/register here.
If the success of your startup depends on the generation and sharing of outstanding content, you’re in luck! The national 3-day Content Camp Workshop is happening in Roseville, September 17-19, and is organized by blogging and website rockstar Jennifer Bourn. She’s been kind enough to share a killer discount code with us too — save 50% off the $350 registration fee with code “SAVEBIG.” Learn more/register.
