Great news for any food, agriculture, and technology innovators and entrepreneurs out there looking to earn some serious prize money and do some social good as well. The Apps for Ag Hackthon is Now FREE to Participate! Join the Apps for Ag Hackathon at Urban Hive in Midtown Sacramento the evening of July 28th, then all day July 29-30 for your chance to win $10,000 (plus other prizes) and build an innovative solution in two and half fun and productivity-filled days.
What are the organizers looking for in this hackathon? They’re looking for passionate technologists, growers, and innovators to come together, define problems, pitch ideas, create teams and build an agriculture or food related application in 48 hours. You can come with an idea to pitch or join others at the event to help them make their idea a reality.
The competition will take place at Urban Hive in Midtown Sacramento, starting on July 28th at 6:00 p.m. with an opening session, lightening idea presentations and a team formation session. Teams will come together again all-day July 29th and the first half of July 30th to develop their tech solutions and pitch decks. Teams will receive pitch advice and mentoring from industry experts throughout the event. On the afternoon of July 30th, teams will then pitch their idea and present their application to a panel of industry expert judges in front of a live audience at the California State Fair for a chance to win several prizes! This is your chance to be be part of something big in food and agriculture. The final pitch event is free and is open to the public.
