Why the Sacramento Inno Awards Matter for Founders and Innovators

If you are building something meaningful in the Sacramento region, this is not the year to stay quiet.

The 2026 Sacramento Inno Awards spotlight innovative companies, founders, and leaders shaping our local economy. Whether you raised funding, launched a new product, built a breakthrough service, or redefined how your organization operates, this is your opportunity to earn credible, regional recognition.

We encourage founders in our network to apply or nominate someone deserving.

Nominations are open now, and the deadline is April 3, 2026.

What Is the Sacramento Inno Awards Program?

Hosted by the Sacramento Business Journal, the Sacramento Inno Awards celebrate innovation across the Greater Sacramento area, including El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, and Yolo counties.

The awards recognize:

  • Breakthrough innovations in the region
  • Funded startups from the past year
  • Companies and individuals driving measurable impact
  • Creative leaders redefining how problems are solved

Entries are evaluated based on novelty, market need, economic or social impact, and disruption. Judges may request additional information during the review process.

Who Should Apply

You should strongly consider nominating your company or yourself.

Self-nominations are encouraged.

You may be a strong candidate if you:

  • Launched a new product or service in the past year
  • Secured new funding
  • Demonstrated measurable growth
  • Built an innovative solution to a real market problem
  • Contributed meaningfully to the local startup ecosystem

Companies must be based in or have major operations in the Greater Sacramento area. Individuals must live or work in the region.

Anyone may submit a nomination. If you are unsure whether someone has already been nominated, submit anyway.

Why Recognition Matters

Awards are not just about press coverage. They can be strategic assets.

Recognition from the Sacramento Business Journal positions your company alongside other high-performing organizations in the region. It signals credibility to investors, partners, and prospective employees. It can strengthen recruiting, improve internal morale, and validate the hard work your team has put in over the past year.

Honorees will be featured in a special print and online section and recognized at an awards program in September 2026. As part of American City Business Journals, the Sacramento Business Journal provides both local and national visibility.

For service providers and ecosystem partners, nominating clients or founders you believe in is also a powerful way to advocate for their success.

The Deadline and Next Steps

All nominations must be submitted by April 3, 2026.

Selections are based entirely on merit, achievements, and contributions to the region. Commercial relationships with the Business Journal are not considered in judging.

If you are building, scaling, innovating, or leading in Sacramento, this is the moment to step forward. Visibility and credibility both compound over time. And recognition can open doors you may not have considered.

If you’ve built something meaningful this year, don’t assume someone else will nominate you. Submit your own application. Nominate someone here today!

Wrap Up

Innovation does not speak for itself. It needs advocates. If you’ve had a banner year, raised funding, launched something new, or made measurable impact, nominate yourself or someone you believe in. April 3, 2026 is the deadline. Do not let this opportunity pass.
