You may just have today off — either you work for the man and he’s paying you for a vacation day or you’re a founder, consultant or hustler and you’re granting yourself a day of rest! I fall into that later category although I’m not certain I’ll be able to refrain from a sneak peek at my unread emails! Whether you’re working or not, please take some time to remember our fallen soldiers this Memorial Day. They paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
If you are chillin’ today and looking for a good read, I recommend my friend Dan Casas-Murray’s guest post on StartupSac, An Entrepreneur’s Journey. If you’re looking for a roadmap to go from idea to business, this is a great place to start! And be sure to click on the “resources & tools” links! Some of you likely know Dan already — he teaches Hacker Lab’s Startup Hustle bootcamp.
If net neutrality is important to your startup’s business model and/or success, the Electronic Frontier Foundation is organizing a Lobby Day in Sacramento tomorrow (May 29th) in support of the California net neutrality bill that’s currently in the state senate. The day will consist of meeting with lawmakers’ offices and a press conference. They’re looking for local startups to participate. If you’re interested, contact Ernesto Falcon at EFF (ernesto at eff dot org) and tell them Duane Wilson (Founder Academy) recommended you reach out about participating in the Lobby Day.
