Great things can happen when Sacramento’s startup community gets together. New connections are made, ideas get shared and a casual conversation can turn into your next collaboration, resource or opportunity.

That is what Startup Happy Hour is all about! Join us Tuesday, September 22 at Roseville Venture Lab for an evening of great conversations, new connections and delicious appetizers with founders, entrepreneurs, innovators and others from across the region.

Meet Sacramento’s Startup Community

Startup Happy Hour is designed to make connecting with other entrepreneurs easier. There are no formal pitches and no pressure to walk into the room with a polished business or a perfect idea. Whether you are developing your first business idea, growing an existing company or looking to become more involved in the regional startup community, the event is an opportunity to meet people who understand the challenges of building something new. Attendees can exchange ideas, learn what others are working on and make connections that could lead to future customers, collaborators, mentors or simply someone who has faced a similar challenge.

Learn From MindfulText CEO Mark Montalban

This month’s AMA guest is Mark Montalban, CEO of MindfulText and a founder-operator working at the intersection of startups, AI and mental wellness. Mark is also an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) at GFN and has advised hundreds of founders globally. His current work explores the balance between technology and wellbeing, and he sees entrepreneurship as an increasingly important skill in a future shaped by AI.

Mark leads MindfulText, which helps healthcare professionals reduce stress and burnout through science-backed mindfulness delivered in quick, 30-second text messages. The platform is designed to make mental wellness easier to access during a busy workday. During the AMA, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from Mark and ask questions about entrepreneurship, AI, building companies, mental wellness and the lessons he has learned working with founders around the world.

Build Connections That Can Move Your Business Forward

Networking is not just about collecting business cards. For early stage founders and small business owners, the right conversation can provide a new perspective on a problem, introduce you to a useful resource or connect you with someone who can help you take the next step.

Startup Happy Hour creates an informal environment where those conversations can happen naturally. It is also an opportunity to learn more about what is happening across the Sacramento region and meet founders, innovators and ecosystem leaders who are actively contributing to the local entrepreneurial community.
