The Startup community is taking a lot of roadtrips this week! StartupSac Happy Hour will be at Hot Italian in Davis on Tuesday evening, 1 Million Cups will be in Rocklin at HaneyBiz on Wednesday morning, and a workshop on the Business Model Canvas will be at InnoGrove in Elk Grove on Wednesday night. If you live in the ‘burbs, this should make you happy! Bonus — these are all FREE events!

Speaking of ‘burbs, we never have events in Folsom. One reason is that the planners of events (like me) aren’t aware of a good (free) event meeting space in Folsom. Know of any?

I ran into Duane Wilson (Founder Academy) at TechEdge last week and chatted with him about the weekly startup coffee meetups he’s got going on. It’s a bit of an experiment, but if you’d like to book 30 minutes with Duane in West Sac on a Friday morning, check out his calendar. His next opening is April 13.

Kwame Anku is making the rounds — he was a speaker at last week’s TechEdge and he’s the fireside chat guest at Startup Grind in a couple of weeks (April 10). Not only is he a cofounder of the Black Angel Tech Fund, he’s also a major champion for Sacramento. You should hear what he’s got to say! And if you get your ticket by March 30, you can save big bucks! The $10 Lucky entrepreneur price PLUS the $5 discount with promo code “digest” will get you in for just a fiver! If you wait until the last minute, it’s going to cost you $25. I enjoy Startup Grind — live music, fab appetizers, and some of the best startup networking in town! Hope to see you there!

There’s lots of great stuff going on in the tech startup community–check out the details in this week’s Startup DigestIf you’d like to receive the digest in your inbox every Monday morning, sign up for free here. If you’ve organized (or know about) an event we have not included, please submit it here for consideration. And for even more startup information, happenings and resources, visit the StartupSac Website.  Note: We include a lot of tech events that aren’t necessarily startup-focused on the event calendar on the StartupSac website. Check it out here.
