Turn Your Food Idea Into a Real Business

Starting a food business takes more than a great recipe. Many culinary entrepreneurs struggle with pricing, branding, permits, operations, and understanding how to grow sustainably. Whether you are launching a food truck, catering company, bakery, packaged food product, or restaurant concept, having the right guidance can make the difference between an idea that stays on paper and a business that gains traction.

That is where the Roseville Rising: Food program comes in.

Hosted by the Roseville Venture Lab in partnership with GFN: Growth Factory Nonprofit and the City of Roseville, this 10-week accelerator is designed specifically for culinary entrepreneurs ready to launch or strengthen an early-stage food business.

The program combines practical business education, mentorship, and community support to help participants build a stronger foundation for long-term growth.

A Program Built for Early-Stage Culinary Entrepreneurs

Roseville Rising: Food is designed for new and early-stage food businesses generating up to $100,000 in annual revenue. The program is especially valuable for founders who are looking for structure, accountability, and expert guidance while building their business.

Participants will work through key business topics that directly impact food entrepreneurs, including:

  • Branding and concept development
  • Crafting and refining menus
  • Financial planning and management
  • Sourcing and inventory systems
  • Hospitality team building
  • Legal requirements and permitting
  • Establishment design and layout
  • Planning for launch and long-term operations

Unlike general business workshops, this program focuses specifically on the challenges faced within the food and hospitality industry. Founders will gain insights that apply directly to running a culinary business in the real world. Learn more and apply here.

Learn From Experts and Build Valuable Connections

One of the biggest advantages of joining an accelerator program is access to experienced professionals and fellow entrepreneurs.

Throughout the 10-week program, participants will engage in hands-on exercises and hear from guest speakers who understand the realities of launching and operating food businesses. These sessions are designed to provide practical advice, not theory.

Founders will also have the opportunity to connect with a community of entrepreneurs navigating similar challenges. Building relationships within the local startup ecosystem can lead to collaborations, partnerships, referrals, and long-term support.

The program will conclude with a public pitch event on September 24 and a showcase tasting event on October 1, giving participants the opportunity to present their concepts to the community and gain visibility for their business.

No Cost to Participate

One of the most valuable aspects of Roseville Rising is that there is no cost to participate.

Programs that provide this level of mentorship, training, and exposure are often expensive and difficult for early-stage founders to access. Roseville Rising removes that barrier and creates an opportunity for entrepreneurs to gain meaningful business support without taking on additional financial strain.

Priority will be given to businesses interested in operating within the City of Roseville, making this an excellent opportunity for founders looking to establish themselves within the local business community.

Sessions will take place on Tuesdays from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM beginning July 14 through September 15.
