Global Entrepreneurship Week is just two weeks away! During November 13-19, thousands of events and competitions in 160 countries will inspire millions to engage in entrepreneurial activity while connecting them to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors. In Sacramento, there are already dozens of events planned and more being added to the calendar every day! Of special note, The City of Sacramento will host “Innovate Sac” at Sac State on Wed Nov 15 from 2-5 pm. StartupSac is building the calendar for #GEWSac; check it out — many events are already posted. Also be sure to check out the Upcoming Events listing below.

This Week’s Best Bets

Every Tuesday (Rocklin) and Thursday (Midtown), Hacker Lab’s Entrepreneur in Residence holds open office hours from 11:30-1:00. If you’re working on a business idea, you should check it out!

Thinking about competing in the Big Bang! competition? Find out more Wednesday evening at the free Contestant Mixer and Workshop. ANYONE, not just those associated with UC Davis, can participate in the competition!

If you missed the sneak peek of I/O Labs last week, there’s a free event Fridaymorning featuring Nancy Duarte, a communication expert whose firm, Duarte, Inc., is the global leader behind some of the most influential visual messages in business and culture. There will also be a talk on creating presentations that make a difference.

Are you raising innovative kids? Consider enrolling them in the Code for Hood Youth Hackathon Friday-Sunday in West Sacramento. Recommended age is 12-17. Tuition is just $45 and WUSD students can enroll for free.
