Al Rich is a nationally recognized solar expert and inventor with over 40 years of experience in the solar energy industry. As the founder of ACR Solar, Al has been at the forefront of solar technology since 1979, offering high-quality solar solutions with a commitment to integrity and customer satisfaction. He holds five U.S. patents and has been featured in numerous media outlets, including the Business Journal and the History Channel’s Modern Marvels.
Under Al’s leadership, ACR Solar has pioneered solar water heating systems, offering unique designs that are more efficient and aesthetically pleasing. Al’s passion for solar energy was sparked at a young age, and since then, he has dedicated his career to advancing solar technology. In this workshop, Al will share his journey, insights into the solar industry’s future, and the impact of clean technology on our environment and economy.
Phil Barnes is the Manager of Workforce Development at Community Resource Project (CRP). With a deep commitment to integrating energy-efficient design in both new and retrofit projects, Phil leads hands-on training and implementation of best practices in energy efficiency throughout the building lifecycle. A lifelong learner, he is passionate about creating sustainable environments for future generations. Phil holds BPI and Cal-CERTS certifications, two NABCEP certificates, and multiple contractor licenses, including B-General, C2-Insulation, C17-Glazing, C20-HVAC, and C36-Plumbing.
Community Resource Project, Inc. (CRP) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1972 in Sacramento. Originally focused on employment training for individuals exiting the correctional system, CRP has expanded its mission to provide critical services in Energy, Health, and Education.
