Failure is an inevitable part of growth. Its painful, disappointing, and can make you give up right before a success. It’s also common, and even more importantly, **critical to your growt**h.
Software development is building a system that has incrementally less immense failures. Come join us to learn how to turn your failures into successes, pick yourself up when you get knocked down, and struggle through the period of ignorance necessary to **build something amazing**.
This month **Obi Baratt**, a self-taught software developer @ Idea Foundry, will present his first three JavaScript projects (of dubious quality). The progression will show growth, improvement, and plenty of failures. We’ll dive into the code, find amusement in past mistakes, and hopefully inspire you to **take on that ambitious project** you’ve been putting off.
You grow fastest when you overcome your failures. You stagnate when you fail to start, or let your failures stop you from further attempts.
This event is being hosted by our friends at the [Carlsen Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship](https://www.csus.edu/center/carlsen/) at the Sacramento State University campus.
