Welcome to the last StartupSac blog post of 2019! We wish you a Happy New Year in advance!
Every week of 2019, in the Startup Digest, we brought you a curated list of events that are the best offerings for startup founders in the greater Sacramento region. But resources for entrepreneurs take more forms than just events. This week, we’ve rounded up some resources for you that go beyond events. Check them out and make a plan to take your startup to the next level in 2020!
Have you checked out the resources tab on our website? In addition to the famous Ecosystem Diagram created by Jeff Bennett, there is information on coworking spaces, access to capital, startup training programs, and more. Are we missing a resource? Let us know!
HaneyBiz puts on some great events for entrepreneurs but did you know that each month, Mark Haney carves out time to hang out with a small group of the region’s most promising entrepreneurs? This informal gathering is an opportunity to share challenges and opportunities, connect with Mark and other entrepreneurs, and to get inspired! Apply for consideration to participate here.
Your federal tax dollars are hard at work…FOR YOU! Free classes and coaching are available from the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the Women’s Business Center (guys welcome too!), TechFutures and SCORE. Be sure to check out their websites for more information.
There are also some vertically-focused programs to assist you. If your business is clean tech or sustainability focused, check out CleanStart. And if it’s ag-tech or food-tech focused, check out AgStart. Looking to start a food business? Check out the Alchemist Microenterprise Academy.
If you’re a maker or want to learn maker skills, maker space Hacker Lab has tons of classes at all three of their locations: Sacramento, Rancho Cordova and Rocklin. Classes cover electronics, woodworking, metal working, 3D printing, laser cutting, jewelry making, sewing and more!
