Welcome to the Sacramento Startup Digest! Laura is away, so I’ll be your guide to the Sacramento startup scene this week.
A couple of weeks ago I attended the Eship Summit in Kansas City, an annual conference with the aim to create a unified, national movement of entrepreneurs and ecosystem builders who work to infuse entrepreneurship into economic development. It was a motivational event with a lot of great takeaways, some of which you can read in this blog post I wrote. But there was one tidbit in particular that I thought I’d share with our readers – 3 things that you can do for entrepreneurs that don’t cost anything.
1. Share your knowledge with them
2. Share your network with them – make introductions
3. Cheerleading – entrepreneurship can be draining. Just expressing your support can go a long way
I’d like to challenge our readers to try just one of these three things this week. If you come across an entrepreneur, whether attending one of the events below or just in your daily routine, talk with them, encourage them and show support, offer to introduce them to someone in your network. These things may not seem like much but it’s an important (and free) part of growing a vibrant startup and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
