At the Sacramento Region Innovation Awards lunch on November 7, UC Davis Chancellor Gary S. May accepted the award for Innovation “Champion” of the Year on behalf of UC Davis. During his acceptance speech May relayed aspects of his strategic vision for UC Davis. He invited the audience to,”Imagine an innovation ecosystem in the urban core of Sacramento. Imagine this hub as an extension of the UC Davis campus, one that links the world-renowned research, faculty, and students with local businesses.” These and other remarks exemplify his vision for UC Davis to strengthen its ties to the Sacramento region.
