It’s time to tell it like it is — the tech industry is notoriously bad at cultivating a diverse team. A new study suggests tech founders are aware of the benefits that come with a more diverse workforce, but many still fail to foster diversity. It’s not enough to understand the benefits, founders need to TAKE ACTION in their own companies to push diversity forward. What are YOU doing to make a difference?

If you don’t have a good answer to that questions, the next two weeks feature several opportunities to advance gender diversity in our startup community. Men, this isn’t a signal for you to tune-out! True gender diversity means both WOMEN AND MEN participate! Two of these events are “co-ed” — I hope both sexes will show up and be counted!

Congrats to Trifecta Inc. for winning Kings Capitalize last Wednesday during the Sacramento Kings Tech Night game! And speaking of diversity, this company was founded by a brother-sister team, Greg and Elizabeth Connolly. Trifecta is an organic meal delivery service based in West Sacramento. And a shout out to Text to Ticket and EicOsis for putting up a good fight!
