Ask anybody who spends much time in the Sacramento innovation and startup community and they’ll likely tell you that 2016 has been a remarkable and eventful year. But, you’ll likely get different answers as to what were the most significant events or stories of the year. Was it the announcement of the City of Sacramento’s Innovation & Growth Fund or the subsequent set of RAILS grants that have been awarded? Or maybe it was the opening of the new Golden 1 Center, the most innovative arena ever built. Or perhaps it was events like the King’s Capitalize event or the Impact Global Venture Summit or smaller events such as Startup Grind or 1 Million Cups events. Or maybe significant wins by the Greater Sacramento Economic Council like bringing Bay Area startups like SupportPay to Sacramento. You get the idea. There’s a lot to choose from.
