This Week’s Best Bets

Come out tonight from 6-8pm for Innovation City: Does Sacramento Have What It Takes To Be One?. It’s a free event hosted by California Groundbreakers at the new Claire Raley Studios for Performing Arts. There will be a panel that includes I/O Labs, Hacker Lab, Operation Innovate, the Mayor’s Office of Innovation and more! Jeff and I will both be there. It’s a free event and Ruhstaller will be there if you want to buy yourself a beer. Or you could buy me or Jeff a beer. :)

It’s your last chance to apply to compete in the Big Bang! for 2017. This year, this UC Davis competition is open to the general public for the very first time. If you have a very early stage startup or even just a fairly well developed idea, you should check it out!

Davis peeps, you’re in luck! Startup Grind is making its first trip to Yolo County! They’ve partnered with Davis Roots to host Tyler Shilling, founder of Shilling Robotics. He’s had a really fascinating entrepreneurial journey! Check it out on Thursday.

Plan Ahead

StartupSac is launching a new monthly get-together — StartupSac Happy Hour — on Tuesday January 31 from 5-7 pm at The Golden Bear. Meet cool people, have a drink and/or a bite, and ask guest entrepreneur Sonny Mayugba anything!

There’s lots of great stuff going on in the tech startup community–check out the details in this week’s Startup Digest. And for even more startup information, happenings and resources, visit the StartupSac Website.
