It’s the Mother-of-All-Weeks for small business and startups! There are two series of events going on in our region, both in celebration of National Small Business Week. Plus there is some of the “regular ‘ol startup stuff.” Jeff and I have listed the events we feel are most beneficial to the tech startup community. To see everything that is going on (19 events!), visit the these sites: Capital Region Small Business Week and Sacramento Small Business Festival. There may be something that interests you that we have not included here.

Instead of “Best Bets this Week,” I’m going to share with you where Jeff and I will be. If you attend any of these events, look for us!

MondaySmall Business Festival Kick Off at McClellan Park. I’m attending and really looking forward to the Equity Crowdfunding talk at 2 pm from Manny Fernandez, cofounder and CEO of DreamFunded.com.

Tuesday — We’re both attending City of Sacramento’s BizX event. at the Crocker Art Museum. Speakers include founders Bri James/Scrumpt and Mariah Lichtenstern/CINESHARES. Jay Sales, Mark Haney and Tina Reynolds will also be in the house!  We’re also going to the StartupSac meetup, Perfecting Your Pitch, at Capsity in the evening.

Wednesday — It’s a TWOFER at Impact Venture Capital! We’ll be at 1 Million Cups from 9-10am featuring presentations from GymHit and Tapp That App. Immediately following is Let’s Startup Sacramento. The highlight for me is guest Matt Thompson, CEO of SeatNinja.

Thursday — It’s the Big Day of Giving! I’ve already scheduled my donations to favorite charities. Consider supporting Code for Sac! I will mostly be hanging out at Big Day of Giving events but if time allows, I’m heading over to Shriner’s Hospital for Children to see the Showcase of Med Tech Companies at from 1-3pm.

Friday — Happy Cinco de Mayo! I’m not sure I’ll make it to Friday, but if I do, the place to be is the Small Business Festival Wrap Up Celebration at Haney Biz Ventures in Rocklin from 5-7! Free margaritas and tacos!

Saturday — Jeff will be speaking on a panel about accelerating tech in Sacramento at the Accelerate Tech Summit at Epic Bible College in Sacramento from 1-4 pm. The conference is free and is organized by the apiNXT Tech Council.
