Good news for our startup community! The Slingshot project awarded $750,000 in grant monies to support entrepreneurship, business startups, and innovation in our region. Among the winners was Hacker Lab, who received $125K to establish a Capital Region Makerspace Network  They are actively seeking an Entrepreneur-in-Residence and a Maker-In-Residence to manage this new program.

Kickstarter Alert! Sacramento startup California Sunlight just launched a $25K campaign for it’s Solar Balloon Cooker. I own one of these — it’s so light and small you can carry it around in your back pocket! Check out the campaign and give them some Sacramento love and support!
