Athena Intelligence

Athena Intelligence is revolutionizing how the food system through its proprietary spatial platform and related advanced analytics and predictive insights.

Athena provides a proprietary geo-spatial platform that enables advanced analytics and predictive insights from public and private data sets related to land, food, water and energy. We produce unique business intelligence that quantifies and democratizes dynamic resource, production and performance risks to the world’s food, energy, financial sectors.

The Issue
Traditional operating models of food, energy and financial enterprises are vulnerable to risks based on new business realities. Constrained resources, shifting climatic patterns, rising population demands and increasing market compliance requirements are converging to drive an unprecedented set of risks to an enterprise’s operational security. These risks are forcing companies to fundamentally alter their operational thinking about resource availability, supply and distribution networks, and how they compete in the marketplace.

The Problem
Before Athena no solution existed to enable these enterprises to identify and quantify these converging risks, intelligently calibrate management actions and collaborate with related stakeholders to mitigate against these risks. A food company is unaware of the % of its supply chain at greatest risk of depleting groundwater levels. An energy utility is unaware of the total strain on regional watersheds that support their primary sources of hydroelectric power. A financial institution is unaware of how depleted groundwater levels and insecure power sources negatively impact the commercial value of the land they have crop production loans associated with.

Mission
Athena Intelligence, Inc. will be the world’s leading repository of business intelligence related to water, food, energy and land security. Our data and companion services will enable Athena’s customers to, for the first time, easily identify supply risks and then to intelligently calibrate and mitigate them. Our tools enable our customers, which include Campbell Soup Co and CAwaterdata.org (collaboration between UC Davis and Microsoft), to lead rather than follow the inevitable evolution towards the commercial alignment of people, planet and profits with water, food and energy security.

Fresher USA
,
FresherSac is an initiative of Fresh Producers, a CA based 501(c)(3) non-profit that ensures everyone goes to bed well fed & builds wealth from health.

FresherUSA, beginning with Fresher Sacramento, has the first authorization in the country for use of SNAP (formerly food stamps) funds for prepared take home meals, along with fresh produce and value-added products. We are placing Fresher Chefs at locations in neighborhoods of need, like La Familia in Fruitridge, the Boys and Girls Club in Lemon Hill, the Pannell Community Center in Meadowview, St. Paul’s Church in Oak Park, a senior center in Curtis Park and Phoenix Park, a section 8 housing community near Mack Rd. Through collective purchase, prep and distribution where people are already picking up their children, coming home from work or attending activities, we can make healthier food way more convenient, affordable, attractive, and environmentally friendly than typical fast food choices. We aim to reduce food insecurity by half in five years and eliminate it entirely within ten, so that everyone goes to bed well-fed.
