Let me catch my breath… WOW! There is a ginormous list of events happening over the next two weeks in our startup community! If you can’t find something that interests you, maybe you just aren’t all that committed to launching a startup! Whether you already have some traction or are just bouncing around a startup idea, there is something for everyone!

Idea Bouncers — Take Note!

Apply for Hacker Lab’s Startup Hustle! This bootcamp will take you from zero to MVP in just 6-weeks! I love this program because it teaches the Lean Startup method! If you want to learn more about the program before applying, come to the free Co-founder speed networking event at Hacker Lab tomorrow. Eric Ullrich, the program creator, will be on hand to answer questions. By the way, Startup Hustle isn’t just for new ideas but it’s a perfect place to start if that’s where you’re at.

This Week’s Best Bets

So hard to narrow it down this week…

CleanStart is unveiling its 2017 Clean Tech Progress report, including a map of the clean tech companies in our region, at a networking mixer on Wednesday in West Sacramento. Appetizers and refreshments and just $10!

StartupSac Happy Hour is back on Thursday at Yolo Brewing Company with guest entrepreneur Greg Connolly, cofounder and CEO of Trifecta (not to mention winner of this year’s Kings Capitalize contest!). This no-host event features an AMA with Greg — show up and ask him anything!

The annual NASA Space Apps Challenge Hackathon is happening this weekend at Hacker Lab. Enter for free and work with a team to solve one of the NASA-specified challenges! More info here.

Plan Ahead

May 1-5 is Small Business Week nationally. Local organizers have put together an impressive number of events for startups and small business owners. You can check out all their offerings at the Capital Region Small Business Week and Small Business Festival websites.

Big Day of Giving is Thursday, May 4. Over 600 local nonprofits are participating in this 24-hour fundraiser. I encourage you to visit the Big Day of Giving website NOW and learn about all the good work they are doing! You can even schedule your donations in advance of May 4! Code For Sac is one of the participating non-profits this year! Show them some love!
