StartupSac is dedicated to fostering and growing the startup and innovation community in the Sacramento region and primarily focuses on technology startups. Technology, it should go without saying, is a direct result of science. So it should come as no surprise that StartupSac supports science and policy decisions based on science, evidence, and logic. With that in mind, we’re pleased to help spread the word about March for Science Sacramento on Saturday April 22, 2017.

What is March for Science?

The Sacramento March for Science is a march in solidarity with the national March for Science in Washington, D.C. and its satellite marches around the world.

Over 500 communities around the world are marking Earth Day this year by joining the March for Science. Sacramento is gathering at Southside Park at 10 AM, Saturday, April 22, and marching at noon to the Capitol. This is a march for fans, users, and defenders of science – not just scientists – who demand that evidence, logic, and a desire for understanding how things work help shape policy and investments. Bring your team (especially if your startup relies on or advances science or education, or if you’re working in civic tech)! The Sacramento march has been planned by a team of local volunteers and we hope to work with you and the other organizations we’re partnering with in the coming months.
