Dr. Katherine Kim’s research focuses on the use of information technology to improve community health, care coordination, and clinical research. Her talk will focus on how to engage patients in their own health by using mobile and social technology.

About our Keynote Speaker

Katherine Kim, Ph.D., M.P.H., M.B.A.
Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing, UC Davis
Katherine Kim is an assistant professor at University of California Davis, Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. Dr. Kim’s research focuses on the use of information technology such as mobile, social, and distributed systems to improve care coordination, community health, and stakeholder-engaged research. Her current research spans cancer, obesity, and heart disease with particular focus on health equity. She is on the leadership team of Patient-centered SCAlable National Network for Effectiveness Research, a stakeholder-governed, distributed clinical data research network for 34M patients. Dr. Kim has over 20 years of previous experience as a hospital and clinic manager, an entrepreneur– CEO of a venture-funded startup, leader of a technology incubator, and founder of a consulting firm—and in software product development with Oracle. She received a PhD at UC Davis, MPH/MBA at UC Berkeley, and BA at Harvard.
