press-conference_farm-to-fork

September is Farm-to-Fork month in Sacramento and while the events aren’t really startup business focused, our region’s culinary superiority is one of the reasons this is such a great place to launch your startup! There’s a TON going on but the best bet (IMHO) is the free Farm-to-Fork Festival at Capitol Mall on September 24. Sacramento Restaurant Week runs 17 days from Sept. 8 through 25. The California Craft Beer Summit, which will be in Sacramento for its conference, will run Sept. 8 through 10, featuring 150 breweries and 400 beers. I’m not even going to mention the Tower Bridge dinner since it’s sold out AND it’s out of reach for most startup pocketbooks.

If your startup has anything to do with food or agriculture, plan to attend the inaugural Sacramento Food Tank conference on September 22 at the Hyatt Regency. The list of speakers includes national and regional experts in all things food.

This week, being a holiday week, is a little slow but there are some events going on if you’re hard core. See this week’s Startup Digest for details. Next week, I’m heading to TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco — give me a shout out if you’re planning to go — maybe we can connect.

If you’ve organized (or know about) an event we have not included, please submit it here for consideration.
