This September, Sacramento’s startup community is rallying around a United Way Day of Caring project for Women of Color on the Move! You can get involved by donating 3 hours of your time on Saturday morning, September 23 to help build community gardens in South Sacramento at several multi-family housing units. Our goal is to enlist 30 volunteers from the startup community to work on this project. Find out more about the project and how to sign up on the StartupSac blog.

This Week’s Best Bets

Impact Venture Capital has two sets of office hours running after 1 Million Cups on Wednesday morning. Sign up for a 30-minute 1-on-1 session for Accounting or Small Business Office Hours.

Wednesday evening, I’m teaching a free workshop, Creating Your Startup’s Digital Footprint, at InnoGrove in Elk Grove. We’ll cover the places you want your startup listed on the internet as well as some branding and social media basics.

Thursday, head over to Hot Italian for CleanStart’s PowerUp mixer. Meet and mingle with Sacramento’s clean tech community! It’s free but please RSVP in advance so they’ll know you’re coming.

Plan Ahead

On Tuesday, August 29, the Greater Sacramento Economic Council is hosting a free community event in Roseville, Innovation Ecosystem: Building Institutional Catalysts for Economic Growth. If you want to be a part of what’s going on in our community to support innovation and entrepreneurship, you should be there! Note: the focus broadened a bit since I first reported on it last week.

There’s lots of great stuff going on in the tech startup community–check out the details in this week’s Startup Digest. If you’d like to receive the digest in your inbox every Monday morning, sign up for free here. If you’ve organized (or know about) an event we have not included, please submit it here for consideration. And for even more startup information, happenings and resources, visit the StartupSac Website.  Note: We include a lot of tech events that aren’t necessarily startup-focused on the event calendar on the StartupSac website. Check it out here.
