After a one week hiatus for the Thanksgiving holiday, 1 Million Cups Sacramento will return this week on Wednesday, November 30 at 9:00 am in the Renaissance Tower downtown Sacramento at 801 K Street on the 28th floor. This week’s presenter lineup includes two new Sacramento area startups; Splor and Spruzza.

Splor

EdTech startup Splor, founded in 2016, facilitates cost effective 1:1 coaching to increase learning and increase performance. Personalized learning requires on demand access to personalized teaching, which historically has been cost prohibitive, but Splor intends to bring the cost of 1:1 teaching down by:

  • Eliminating wasted spend on tutor/trainer downtime, recently increased by online content
  • Increasing supply of teachers by assessing the knowledge and skills of all members of a learning organization; students teaching students, employees teaching employees, etc.

Spruzza

Spruzza, founded in 2014, is an on board cooling system for your bike. It is the first practical, easy to use and very effective design that keeps cyclists 15-20+ degrees cooler anytime they want while they’re riding. Spruzza addresses the problem that cyclists face of heat impacting every facet of the cycling experience, for professional riders concerned about power and endurance, recreational riders who are concerned about safety and just want to enjoy the ride and for commuters who don’t want to suffer in hot weather because they are committed to a healthier, less expensive and environmentally sound form of transportation.

Whether you’re intrigued by either of these two startups, you want to offer fresh perspectives to these two startups, or you just want to network within the Sacramento startup community come on out to 1 Million Cups Sacramento this Wednesday morning. It’s free but we ask that you RSVP on the 1 Million Cups Sacramento Facebook page so we know how much coffee to bring.

If you have a startup and you’d like to present at a future meeting, you can apply to present here. It’s a great opportunity to get feedback on your business plan, your marketing, your markets, or any aspect of your venture.
